The Stock Hotel Refurbishment was designed to complement the original workers pub whilst strengthening connections the adjacent stock auction yards. Inspiration was taken from the original hotel, recent renovations removed to restore the building to the look and feel of a country pub. The desire of the client was to make a space that felt raw and serviceable whilst creating a degree of comfort and modern planning. A new garden bar was added to the rear to create a direct view to the stock yards and a live music area. Materials of timber, steel and brick were used to draw from the country palette and create a durable modern extension. The street frontage is to be re-built with a country verandah edge creating a street presence to Anzac Avenue and a new workers bar - a nod to the existing.
